It's not easy to find nice shoes for an affordable price. These days it's seems everybody is copying everybody and each style can be found in every shop from the lowest quality up up high class. We at Kitchener try to offer shoes that have got class and style and are made to last longer than one season. Sometimes it's like looking for a needle in the haystack.
But Vialis is one of these brands we a proud to offer. The shoes got quite a unique style, are comfortable and hand made in spain. After having seen this video I am even happier to have them in the store. A product of craftsmanship!
Viel Spass beim Kleben!
James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem once said that “The best way to complain is to make things,” and that’s what Tina Roth Eisenberg, founder of Tattly did.
Tired of putting poorly designed temporary tattoos on her daugther’s arm, she took matters into her own hands. In July of 2011, Tattly Temporary Tattoos launched online, featuring an all-star lineup of professional designers and illustrators.
It's no secret that we here at Kitchener have a weakness for Japanese design. If we stumble across a nice product we can hardly resist. Hasami Porcelain we could not resist. The beautiful collection consists of plates and bowls of various sizes that can be used interchangeably to both eat and serve. The solid oak trays double as bottom plates, coasters or lids. The stackable tableware is a product of real craftsmanship made in historical town in southern Japan, in the Nagasaki prefecture. Hasami is one of the leading producers of yakimono (fired ware).
More on Hasami porcelain and how it's made:
Hasami-yaki is made from 100% natural Amakusa china stone- Iron is removed from each stone by hand and gradually changes its form to powder after 13 hour of comminution.
Most of the products made in Hasami use plaster molds. Craftsmen who create the molds shave the molds with precision to millimeter, in anticipation of the 12% constriction that is estimated to occur after burning. This is a fork of craftsmanship that only the most skilled can accomplish.
The spirit of the stone changes its shape after several craftsmen, and it eventually finds its way to the kiln. After a first firing at 480°, it's glazed and returned to the kiln for the main burning at 1300°.
Firing in high temperature changes the porcelain into a glass substance, increasing it's durability. The whole process takes approximately 12 hours.
The porcelain itself is dishwasher and microwave safe.
I just realized that I havent been on the burning house for a long time. What a great site!
If you haven't been there for a while or even don't yet know the site go there now.
If your house was burning, what would you take with you? It's a conflict between what's practical, valuable and sentimental. What you would take reflects your interests, background and priorities.
Gentleman, get on you bikes!
I guess everyone who cycles to work faces the same dilemmas. You need cloth that are comfortable to ride with, but still look good. I think us girls face even more problems here. Have you ever tried to cycle in a pencil skirt? Or better I recently took my new very wide and expensive designer skirt on a ride ... after 5 minutes the thing got stuck in the spokes. Or what if it rains? I'm still looking for cool rain "wear" you can easily pull over your normal cloth and that really keep you dry.
We've been looking everywhere for clothing that help solve some of these daily dilemmas. And we found some interesting products that will hit the store in the coming weeks.
Levis Commuter series is one of them. The commuter series is a multi functional performance product designed for cyclists all over the world.
The pants are equipped with a high utility waistband that keeps you covered up while allowing quick access to your U-lock, as well as sanitization technology to protect against odor from sweat and grime. Plus, functional accents like 3M reflecting tape keep you safe and still look stylish once you're off your bike.
